My RX-V995 is much simpler to operate since the controls and features are on the face, unlike the RX-V1400 many functions/modes need a 'turn this knob, press this button, and press that button twice' to activate it.. The RX-V1400 A/V receiver (listed at $799) is a fine example of Yamaha's craft
